Two girls were hit by an electric train in Kazan

A criminal case has been opened in Kazan after an incident with two 12-year-old schoolgirls who were hit by an electric train. This was announced on Tuesday, April 29, by the Central Interregional Investigative Department for Transport (MCT) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.

"According to preliminary data, on the evening of April 29, 2025, two 12-year—old girls were injured by an electric train on 796 km who tried to run across the railway tracks," the agency's Telegram post says.

It is specified that the driver applied emergency braking in order to prevent a hit, but the minors were still hurt. The girls were taken to a medical facility.

A criminal case has been opened on this fact under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of railway transport").

The investigation is currently establishing all the circumstances of the incident.

Earlier, on April 18, in the Kizlyar district of Dagestan, three people, including two children, were injured when a car collided with a train. It is specified that as a result of the collision, the driver himself was injured, as well as two of his minor passengers, boys aged four and 10 years old.
