Ground squirrels bite three children in Krasnoyarsk

Ground squirrels bit three children on Tatyshev Island in Krasnoyarsk. The victims are six, seven and 10 years old, the press service of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor reported on Tuesday, April 29.

The victims managed to avoid adverse health consequences, writes KrasnoyarskMedia news agency.

The agency reminded that you should not approach the ground squirrels and feed them with your hands. Small animals can carry many serious diseases and parasites. Among them are rabies, helminths, tularemia, listeriosis.

In early March, it was reported that in the current 2025, ground squirrels on Tatyshev Island came out of hibernation earlier than usual. The animals were noticed by local residents.
