Lavrov: Moscow knows the value of Kiev's statements about the truce

Russia "knows the value" of Ukraine's truce proposals, as well as numerous violations on its part. This was stated on April 29 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a press conference following the BRICS Ministerial Council in Rio de Janeiro.
"We know perfectly well the value of these statements. A month, a month and a half, two months ago, threatening warnings sounded from Kiev that they would not accept any truce. The European radicals incited the Kiev regime to continue this line," he said.
In addition, the minister urged not to read the statements of the Kiev regime "either at night or in the morning" because of the lack of restraint in promises. He added that Russia continues to record violations by Ukraine, which were observed during the Easter Truce and the moratorium on strikes on energy infrastructure facilities.
Earlier in the day, Lavrov said that Russia was in favor of starting direct negotiations with Ukraine without preconditions. He noted that Moscow considers Kiev's retaliatory demand for a 30-day truce as a precondition, which contradicts the idea of an immediate dialogue.
