In the Kaliningrad region, a court sentenced a man to 2.5 years in a general regime penal colony for cooperating with the special services of Ukraine. This was announced on April 29 by the press service of the Kaliningrad Regional Court.

"On April 29, 2025, a citizen of the Russian Federation, who is a native of Ukraine and lives in the Kaliningrad region, was found guilty of committing a crime under Article 275.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, that is, an act directed against the foundations of the constitutional order and state security of the Russian Federation," the Telegram channel says.

According to the investigation, in the period from February 2022 to August 2023, the accused in the Telegram messenger provided intelligence data to the special services of Ukraine in the interests of the Ukrainian side. His activities were stopped by FSB officers in the region.

It is noted that the man fully admitted his guilt and confessed to what he had done, and then concluded a pre-trial cooperation agreement with the prosecutor, which contributed to the mitigation of punishment.

Earlier, on April 25, employees of the FSB of the Russian Federation detained a Romanian citizen who, on the instructions of the special services of Ukraine, collected data on the locations of air defense systems in the city of Sochi. It was noted that a criminal case had been opened against the man under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Espionage").
