The vast majority of heavy weapons systems, artillery, and armored vehicles are manufactured in the United States, so stopping the country's military aid to Ukraine will be critical. This was stated by military expert, retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk on Tuesday, April 29.

"Europe, of course, helps, but not in such volumes. In addition, American money is at the heart of Ukraine's financial existence. These are payments for social needs, for defense, and for the military. Therefore, if the support suddenly stops, Ukraine will hold out for a couple of months, and then it will have to declare itself bankrupt," Matviychuk said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

The military noted that stopping the transfer of American intelligence data to Ukraine would be a disaster — without this information, the country would go blind on the battlefield.

"The intelligence is processed by officers of the American army, and then brought to Ukraine through a unified management system. According to these data, the striking systems are working: howitzers, missiles. If this program is suddenly curtailed, Ukraine will go blind. After all, Europe also receives intelligence from the United States, they do not have their own satellite systems," Matviychuk concluded.

Earlier in the day, the German newspaper Bild reported that US President Donald Trump was blocking the transfer of American Abrams tanks to Ukraine by the Australian authorities.

In October 2024, Australia promised to transfer 49 M1A1 Abrams combat tanks to Ukraine as part of a €164 million military assistance package. However, the weapons systems "are still awaiting final approval for shipment abroad," the newspaper writes.

On the same day, the American leader said in an interview with The Atlantic magazine that Ukraine would be defeated very soon. Trump added that his peace efforts are an attempt to save the country from total surrender. He noted that it is necessary to recognize that Russia's military power is too great, so the Ukrainian army has no chance of winning.

Earlier, on April 24, Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Goncharenko (listed in the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist) said that ending U.S. support would lead Ukraine to disaster, RT reports.
