Russians have identified the best Russian regions to work in
The best regions for work, according to Russians, are Saratov, Belgorod and Novosibirsk regions. This is stated in the results of the research of the Dream Job employer brand development platform, which were reviewed by Izvestia on April 30. The experts analyzed more than 50,000 employee reviews about their companies across Russia.
The Saratov region became the leader of the rating and scored an average of 3.68 points in 2025. A year ago, the region was ranked fourth. The Belgorod Region is in second place with 3.62, which was in 11th position in 2024. The Novosibirsk Region ranks third with 3.6, and the Ulyanovsk Region ranks fourth with 3.59. The Republic of Tatarstan closes the top five regions for work with 3.59 points (in 2024 - 14th place).
"One of the main factors that influenced the changes in the ranking of regions was the increase in income levels. It increased by 1.63% over the year," the analysts noted, adding that the higher the region's salary score, the higher the overall rating.
Experts also pointed to the relationship between the overall rating and working conditions. Even if there is an excellent office in the region, the overall rating may decrease due to other factors: career opportunities, quality of management, or salary levels. For example, in the Saratov region, employees rate working conditions by an average of 3.83 points, which is the highest indicator in Russia. While Moscow ranks only sixth with a score of 3.76.
"Most regions rate the work of management equally — from 3.3 to 3.6 points. This is not the highest rating, which may indicate dissatisfaction with the leadership style in general. Interestingly, the difference between large megacities and small towns is almost imperceptible — the success of management decisions does not depend on the size of the settlement," experts noted.
In addition, employees in all regions rated the importance of the team with the highest score — 4.18. This assessment shows that Russians maintain strong informal ties and help each other in work situations.
Earlier, on April 22, it was reported that among the Russians surveyed, almost half (49%) gave priority to Moscow in workaholism — the capital is traditionally associated with a dynamic rhythm of life and high competition. This is stated in the results of a study of the services "Work.<url>" and "Part-time job". St. Petersburg ranks second (25%), Novosibirsk is third (14%).
