Moskvich has assembled several hundred new crossovers with the index 5

The Moskvich plant has produced several hundred Moskvich 5 crossovers. The company's press service announced this in its Telegram channel on April 29. The compact crossover can be put into mass production. The plant had not previously announced the inclusion of this model in its product line.

The company said that these cars have joined the Moskvich corporate fleet, where engineers and testers are testing them in real conditions.

"There are thousands of kilometers ahead on different roads and in any weather. The decision to launch the series will be made based on the results of the tests," the automobile plant said.

According to Za Rudem, the released Moskvich 5 are equipped with 1.5 turbo engines (136 or 174 hp), a variator and front-wheel drive.

The prototype of the Moskvich 5 was demonstrated in the summer of 2023 in Naberezhnye Chelny, <url> Magazine notes. The model presented then was more powerful. The output of the 1.5-liter engine was 149 or 184 hp, in addition to the CVT, there was also a robotic transmission. The dimensions of the 4.5-meter crossover completely coincided with the Chinese equivalent of the JAC Sehol X6.

On April 15, it was reported that the Moskvich automobile plant is preparing to start production of the Moskvich 8 crossover. He will become the fourth model of the revived brand. The announcement of the model's launch took place a year ago, in April 2024. Initially, production and the start of sales were planned before the end of that year, later the market launch was postponed to February 2025, but the official start of sales has not yet been announced.
