Analysts named the most "automotive" regions of Russia


In Russia, as of the beginning of 2025, there are an average of 331 passenger cars per 1,000 inhabitants. This was reported on April 29 by the analytical agency Autostat.
Depending on the region, this indicator may vary significantly. Thus, among the subjects of the Russian Federation, which have more than 1 million passenger cars, the Samara region leads in terms of motorization with a result of 364 cars per thousand inhabitants.
The list of regions with the largest fleet, where the availability of passenger transport was higher than in the whole country, included the Krasnodar Territory (354 cars per 1,000 inhabitants), Tatarstan (351 cars), Chelyabinsk region (349 cars), Rostov region (343 cars), Nizhny Novgorod region (342 cars), Sverdlovsk the region (339 cars), the Moscow region (338 cars) and Bashkortostan (337 cars).
Noted. that Moscow and St. Petersburg lag behind the average Russian level of motorization. There are 313 and 329 cars per 1,000 inhabitants, respectively.
Earlier in the day, it became known that according to the results of the first three months of 2025, the stocks of new passenger cars in warehouses in Russia remained virtually unchanged and amounted to about 500 thousand units. In the first quarter, sales of new passenger cars in the Russian Federation amounted to 247 thousand units, during the same period 256 thousand new cars were imported into the country.
The day before, it was reported that, according to the survey results, Russians are most waiting for Kia and Hyundai brands to return to the Russian market. Toyota is in second place, Volkswagen is in third position. BMW and Skoda are next.
