The average discount on a new car at dealers has reached 21%

According to the results of the first quarter of this year, the average discount that official dealers are willing to provide to the buyer of a new car for loan processing, insurance and trade-in reached 21%. In general, offers that reduce the final cost are available for 91% of dealer ads. On April 30, experts from <url> Assessment told Izvestia about this.

According to some offers, the discount reached 50% of the total cost of the car. The average discount for loan processing was 11%, for trade-in — 7%, and for casco insurance — 2%, the analysts said.

Among the ten regions of the Russian Federation with the largest sales of new cars in the first three months of 2025, the highest median discount was recorded in St. Petersburg and Moscow - 24% and 23%, respectively. The lowest discount was recorded in the Republic of Bashkortostan (15%), the Rostov Region (16%) and the Republic of Tatarstan (19%). The maximum discount in most regions was close to the national level, but in three there was a noticeable deviation: in the Samara region it was 39%, in the Rostov region — 41%, and in the Sverdlovsk region — 44%.

"When looking for a deal with the maximum benefit, it is worth paying attention to the cars of last year. There are still quite a lot of them in the total volume of ads, so dealers are ready to make significant concessions, in addition to discounts for the design of individual financial products," said Sergey Ignatov, head of the Key Customer Relations department at <url>.

The day before, it became known that according to the results of the first three months of 2025, the stocks of new passenger cars in warehouses in Russia remained virtually unchanged and amounted to about 500 thousand units. In the first quarter, sales of new passenger cars in the Russian Federation amounted to 247 thousand units, during the same period 256 thousand new cars were imported into the country.

On April 15, it was reported that about a third of Chinese brands in Russia increased their discounts on new cars in the amount of 70-100 thousand rubles to keep up with demand. Some brands offer discounts on cars manufactured in 2024 in the amount of 5-10%, and for unclaimed equipment the discount can reach 15-20%.
