- Iran called sabotage a possible cause of an explosion at a port in the south of the country.

The explosion at the Shahid Rajai seaport in the city of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran could have occurred as a result of sabotage. This was announced on April 29 by Mohammad Mehdi Shahriari, a member of the parliament's committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, to the Rouydad 24 portal.
"Explosion at Shahid Rajai port <... It could have happened due to a number of unintended problems or technical negligence, but many people also thought about sabotage. The incident could even be caused by FPV drones, although the possibility of a sabotage explosion is also being considered," he said.
According to the parliamentarian, this issue needs to be resolved and will be raised in the National Security Committee.
The explosion in the Iranian seaport of Shahid Rajai, which resulted in a fire, became known on April 26. The next day, three days of general mourning were declared in the country in connection with the tragedy. According to the latest data, the death toll has risen to 70 people.
Later, after a corresponding appeal from the Iranian partners to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian side decided to send special aircraft to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation. On April 29, the Russian Embassy in Iran announced that the fire in the port of Bandar Abass was under control, and its elimination was expected in the near future.
