Six dams 40 km long will be built in Transbaikalia

Six new dams with a total length of 40 km will be built in the Trans-Baikal Territory. They will be put into operation by the end of 2026, the press service of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment reported in its Telegram on Tuesday, April 29.
Four dams continue to be built in Chita, and one each in Chernyshevsk and Shilka. An agreement was also signed with Rosvodresursami on financing the construction of another dam in Khilka. Work on the facility will begin in 2026.
The projects are being implemented with federal funding in preparation for the flood-prone period. In total, 1.6 billion rubles are provided for water management activities in 2025. As noted by ChitaMedia news agency, this is a record amount for the region.
Earlier in April, it was reported that road repairs in Transbaikalia would be carried out using mobile asphalt plants. Such complexes are needed in several districts.
