- The head of the Pobeda organizing committee was detained in Chisinau after a trip to Moscow.

Alexey Petrovich, the head of the coordinating council of Russian compatriots in Moldova, as well as the Pobeda National Committee, was detained after a trip to Moscow. He announced this on April 29 in his Telegram channel.
"He was detained at Chisinau International Airport after returning from an international symposium dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazism and the creation of the United Nations," Petrovich said.
He clarified that he expects a search and additional inspection, adding that due to the detention he will not be able to attend a meeting of responsible services at the Chisinau City Hall dedicated to preparations for Victory Day events. Petrovich expressed the hope that his colleagues would adequately cope with the task and protect the right of citizens to celebrate an important holiday for everyone.
Earlier, on April 27, the leader of the Pobeda committee was detained while trying to fly out of Moldova. He was later released and allowed to leave, without specifying the reason for the additional search.
On the same day, in an interview with Izvestia, Petrovich suggested that the Moldovan authorities were probably trying to intimidate him with regular detentions at the airport. He clarified that he had been examined for the first time about two weeks ago when returning from Russia. The politician's personal belongings, documents and bank cards were checked, after which they handed over a protocol stating three reasons for the inspection: checking the legality of his stay in Moldova, the authenticity of documents and baggage.
