- A tram line on Akademika Sakharova Avenue will be opened in Moscow by the end of the year.

A new tram line, which will run along Akademika Sakharova Avenue and Masha Poryvaeva Street, is planned to open in Moscow by the end of the year. This was stated by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
The tracks are created on a separate track and are separated by markings from the roadway so that the lanes for cars do not intersect with the tram line. Builders use seamless track laying technology for a quiet and smooth ride.
According to the mayor, the line from the Chistye Prudy metro station to the three railway stations square will serve about 2 million residents of the southwest, south, east and city center. In the future, it will create two diametrical tram routes that will connect 19 districts of Moscow.
"We are reconstructing the adjacent street and road network, including in the area where Masha Poryvaeva Street adjoins Kalanchevskaya Street and Komsomolskaya Square, near the intersection of Akademika Sakharova Avenue and Sretensky Boulevard," the mayor said.
Sobyanin stressed that the tram network in Moscow is expanding and historical routes are being restored. For example, it is planned to resume traffic on Trifonovskaya Street to Rizhskaya Square. In addition, plans include the reconstruction of four depots by 2030, as well as the conversion of the former 7th trolleybus fleet on Nagatinskaya Street into the new Nagatinskoye tram depot.
