Golikova spoke about the growing number of bone marrow donors

The number of bone marrow donors increased by 120,000 over the past year. This was announced on April 29 by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova at an expanded meeting of the Board of the FMBA of Russia.
"Last year, the number of donors increased by 120,000 and reached 438,000 donors. By the end of 2025, our register should already include 500,000 donors," she said.
According to her, until recently, patients depended on the remaining donor material, which was supplied from abroad. Now the number of bone marrow donors has increased in the federal register.
Golikova noted that at the moment, funding has been allocated to replenish the register, as well as the organization of typing. Its volume has increased seven times compared to 2023. This year, it is necessary to perform over 7 thousand types.
Earlier, on January 20, the Russian government added 18 medicines to the list of vital and essential medicines. According to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, most drugs are used to treat complex, life-threatening diseases.
