The farewell ceremony for the Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, who tragically died on April 25, was held on April 29 at the territory of the Federal War Memorial "Pantheon of Defenders of the Fatherland" in Mytishchi. Among the participants of the ceremony were high-ranking representatives of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces, as well as colleagues of Moskalik and veterans of the Russian army.
The Defense Ministry recalled that Yaroslav Moskalik performed tasks during the counter-terrorism operation in the North Caucasus region in 2002-2005, participated in planning a military operation in Syria in 2015, and subsequently participated in resolving the Syrian crisis. In addition, from 2015 to 2021, he was a member of the Russian Defense Ministry delegation to the working group on security issues of the Minsk Contact Group, and since the beginning of the special operation, he led the duty shift of the Combat Control Group of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
For his services to ensuring the defense capability of the state, Yaroslav Moskalik was awarded the Orders of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree, Alexander Nevsky, Zhukov, For Military Merit, Honor, medals of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, I and II degrees, Honorary Diploma of the President of the Russian Federation, medals of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. He was also awarded the honorary title of "Honored Military Specialist of the Russian Federation."
