Sales of the new Valdai 18 truck have started in Russia

Sales of a new model of the Valdai 18 bonnetless truck have started in Russia. The vehicle with a gross weight of 18 tons and a load capacity of up to 12.2 tons is designed for short- and medium-haul transportation, work in public utilities and performance in the city, according to a statement from the Modern Transport Technologies company, which was received by Izvestia on April 29.

The Valdai 18 is available with three wheelbase options: 4800, 5750 and 6100 mm. In the longest version, the mounting length of the frame for installing special add-ons is 8700 mm. The most popular variants of special equipment are already available for order: insulated vans and refrigerated trucks, Euro platforms, on-board vehicles with a crane manipulator unit (CMU). In the coming months, the list of available chassis options and add-ons will be expanded, the company noted.

The truck has a 6.7-liter diesel engine (261 hp; 956 Nm), which is powered by an 8-speed gearbox. The basic equipment includes cruise control, air conditioning, an autonomous heater, a sleeping place in the cabin, a sprung driver's seat with four-way adjustments and a pneumatic rear suspension. The manufacturer calls the volume of the fuel tank (450 liters) the largest in this class of cars.

The production of the Valdai 18 has been established at the Nizhny Novgorod Trucks company in a full cycle (welding, painting, assembly) along with the already well-known Valdai 45 model. The distributor promises a 3-year factory warranty with no mileage limit. The interval between maintenance is 20 thousand kilometers.

On April 16, Russia unveiled a new fire truck based on the chassis of the Valdai 12 medium-duty truck. The model is characterized by maneuverability and small dimensions, the manufacturer said.

Prior to that, on April 11, a new model of a fuel tanker truck was introduced in the Russian Federation, made on the chassis of a Valdai 12 bonnetless truck. Such equipment is intended for transportation of light oil products, refueling of special equipment at the point of operation and households.
