AP has learned about the freezing of federal funds by Trump with the support of Musk

President of the United States Donald Trump and his administration, with the support of the head of the Department of Government Efficiency of the United States (DOGE), billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk, suspended the allocation of about $ 430 billion in federal funds. This was reported by the Associated Press (AP) on April 29.
They noted that Senator Patty Murray and member of the House of Representatives Rosa DeLauro published an online tracker showing the ways in which the American leader and the head of DOGE interrupt the flow of federal funds. According to the congressmen, the head of state and Musk acted illegally.
"Instead of investing in the American people, President Trump is ignoring our laws and wasting our resources," Murray and DeLauro, representing the Democratic Party, said in a statement.
The agency noted that at the same time, the White House and Republicans claim: they are fighting against waste in the government, despite the legal proceedings they have to face because of this work.
"The director of the Trump Administration and Budget Office intends to send Congress a package of measures to repeal bills in the amount of $9 billion soon in order to return funds through cuts to the US Agency for International Development and other organizations," the publication says.
According to AP, some Republicans are also unhappy with the cuts in the staff of government departments, but avoid publicly criticizing the president.
The Financial Times newspaper reported on April 20 that DOGE, as part of a cost-cutting campaign, had expanded its sphere of influence to include key cultural institutions in the country. Thus, the financing of the National Art Gallery is planned to be reduced by $ 1 trillion.
