Trachycarpus Fortune flowers released in Stavropol

An evergreen palm tree bloomed in Victory Park in Stavropol, having successfully survived the winter. The plant was not harmed by the temperature swings that have been observed since the beginning of the year, the park's press service reported on Tuesday, April 29.
During the cold weather, from December to March, the palm tree is covered with a huge glass dome. Being in the heat, the tree released flowers, which then form fruits similar to dates. Park visitors are warned that the berries are inedible.
Stavropol palm is Trachycarpus Fortune (Trachycarpus fortunei), writes IA StavropolMedia. The species is frost-resistant and can withstand temperatures from -10 to -15 degrees. During flowering, it gives off a pleasant sweet fragrance.
Earlier, on April 24, it was reported that cherry blossoms began in Yessentuki (Stavropol Territory). You can admire the natural phenomenon over the next 10 days.
