Chita Airport is awaiting a large-scale reconstruction

The reconstruction of two projects is planned to be carried out at Chita airport. The total investment will amount to 2.8 billion rubles, said Denis Kaminsky, director of the air harbor, in an interview with ChitaMedia news agency published on Tuesday, April 29.

According to him, the first project provides for the renovation of the airport complex, which includes the repair of the apron, lighting equipment, taxiways and other facilities. There are plans to lengthen the runway, expand the aircraft parking area, equip a flood protection system and build an emergency rescue station.

The second project is the construction of a new airport complex, which will include a passenger terminal and a forecourt, Kaminsky added. The object will be made two-storied.

The work is scheduled to be completed in 2029. By the end of 2025, the terminal's design and preparation of design estimates will be completed.

The total cost of the new airport complex will amount to 7.6 billion rubles, the financing will be carried out according to the investment program of the Novaport holding. 15.2 billion rubles will be allocated for the reconstruction of infrastructure, 60% of this amount is budget money under the state program.

Earlier it was reported that in Chita it is planned to organize a temporary storage warehouse with an area of 26.5 thousand square meters. m. The facility will appear within the territory of the advanced socio-economic development "Transbaikalia".
