The Expert Advisory Council for the development of the brewing industry will contribute to the development of a unified position and dialogue with the government to solve the problems of the industry. Vyacheslav Mamontov, Executive Director of the Association of Beer, Malt and Beverage Producers, told Izvestia on April 29.

"In order for us to consolidate and work out a common position in the face of the challenges that exist, we need a single platform. The creation of an expert advisory council will probably become the tool that will allow the industry to conduct a dialogue with the government to solve its problems," he said.

The expert stressed that the association's environment is necessary to develop a common strategy, create a special roadmap and solve the challenges facing the industry.

He clarified that the industry in the Russian Federation consists of diverse segments, including small, medium and large breweries. At the same time, the expert noted that Russia is a country that has strict restrictions on beer production and turnover compared to other countries.

Mamontov stressed that the industry currently has some problems. For example, the industry is faced with the task of solving issues related to the regulatory framework for regulating the industry, illegal trafficking, as well as the development of a culture of consumption of brewing products.

The day before, Kamal Lebedev, executive director of the association of beer and alcohol market participants, shared with Izvestia that the skill of brewers is currently growing in Russia, as well as technology is developing. He clarified that the brewing movement needs to be coordinated and monitored. According to the expert, this should be done by entrepreneurs.

On the same day, it became known that an expert advisory council for the development of the brewing industry had appeared in Russia on the initiative of Baltika. In the near future, the council intends to develop a common approach to addressing emerging challenges, as well as form proposals to change the current regulation of the beer and alcohol industry.
