Hockey club (HC) CSKA has terminated cooperation with the coaching staff headed by Ilya Vorobyov. This was reported on the HC website on April 29.
"Due to the failure to fulfill the task assigned to the CSKA main team for the 2024/25 season of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) championship, it was decided to terminate cooperation with the coaching staff," the statement said.
The HC's press service said that new personnel appointments would be announced later.
On April 5, HC CSKA lost to Dinamo Minsk and was eliminated from the KHL playoffs with a score of 4:2. The Moscow team lost 5-2 and for the first time in its history allowed Dinamo Minsk to advance to the second round. The victory for the Belarusian team was secured by former CSKA coach Dmitry Kvartalnov.
