The average cost of Russians for seedlings and seeds in 2025 is more than 3.5 thousand rubles. This is stated in the results of a study of the Orange loyalty service, which were reviewed by Izvestia on April 30.

At the same time, the average amount spent by male summer residents on seeds and seedlings exceeded 4 thousand rubles. For women — in the region of 2.5 thousand rubles.

Among the Russians surveyed, the majority plan to grow mainly flowers: hosta, delphinium, tea roses, violets, as well as greens for salad. At the same time, 70% of male respondents noted that they feel more pleasure caring for fruit plants - tomatoes, apple trees, gooseberries.

Russians give the greatest preference to traditional vegetables — tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplants, cabbage, while the varieties differ depending on the region. For example, in the Leningrad region, gardeners choose tomatoes of the Valentina, Sanka, Aurora, and Grunt Gribovsky varieties, as they are better adapted to the characteristics of the soil. And residents of the Moscow region prefer apples of the Bogatyr, Banana winter, Spartan, and Frigate varieties.

In addition, young people prefer to purchase seeds in specialty stores, explaining this with a wider range of unpretentious plants. Half of Russians noted that they purchase seeds simultaneously with food. However, more than 30% of gardeners use loyalty services and cashback when there are favorable offers.
