Oreshkin called BRICS a key force in the global economy

The BRICS countries are becoming a key force in the global economy. This was stated on April 29 by Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, during the open dialogue "The Future of the World. A new platform for global growth."
According to him, BRICS acts not only as an association of countries, but also as an important factor contributing to the movement of the global economy forward.
"What is very important is that BRICS is not about uniting against someone. The main principles on which this organization operates are the principles of consensus. That is, no decision is made here if at least one country opposes it," Oreshkin said.
The deputy head of the Presidential Administration clarified that the BRICS countries are actively expressing various initiatives in a variety of areas. This approach allows us to take into account the interests of all participants and contributes to the development of solutions aimed at the common good.
Earlier in the day, Oreshkin noted the growing role of the BRICS countries in the global economy. According to him, at the beginning of the 21st century, the BRICS countries accounted for less than 25% of the global economy. However, according to the latest data, this figure has increased to a third.
