The expert spoke about a possible reduction in prices for "stale" cars.

Prices for cars that have not been sold for a long time may decrease, including by half. Vladimir Titov, an auto expert, told Izvestia about this.
"Of course, there were more cars, but dealers always followed this path: if a car is not sold for a year, then the price is simply reduced, it is sold. <...> And up to 50% even reduced prices for, as they say, stale goods that need to be sold," — said Titov.
He added that, for example, car tires have a certain service life — about three to four years, after which the tires need to be changed. This factor can also affect the price of the car.
The expert also confirmed that they are mainly talking about Chinese cars. He compared them to a disposable lighter.
"They [Chinese manufacturers] just want to sell the car today, but they don't care how to service it, where to get spare parts," Titov explained.
According to him, people have been waiting for months for components for their Chinese-made cars, including new ones that are under warranty. Titov noted that this situation would not last long.
"There must be some kind of market stabilization," he concluded.
Earlier, on April 28, Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, reported that Russian car dealers had accumulated about 500,000 unsold cars. Of these, 300-350 thousand are brands from China.
Earlier, on April 18, Daniil Shkurygin, commercial director of <url>, said that sales of passenger cars in Russia in the first quarter of 2025 showed a significant decrease — by 26% year-on-year. The main factor was a sharp reduction in car loans, he noted.
