In Spain, the connection of a power failure with a cyberattack was ruled out.

The large-scale power failure, according to preliminary data, is not related to a cyberattack. This was announced on April 29 by Eduardo Prieto, Director of Operations at the Red Electrica energy company.
"We can rule out a cybersecurity incident," the EFE news agency quoted him as saying.
Red Electrica added that there was no intrusion into the control systems that could have caused the failure.
Earlier, on April 28, the media reported that residents of most of Spain and Portugal faced a large-scale power outage. It clarifies that the outage affected the operation of public transport, power lines and telephone communications in some parts of Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon. In addition, the metro was evacuated in Madrid. It is noted that the streets of large cities were quickly filled with local residents.
Later that day, the Portuguese electricity grid operator Ren cited a rare atmospheric phenomenon as the cause of the outage in the Spanish and Portuguese power grids.
