The media pointed to frequent cases of destruction of Ukrainian air defense aircraft

Many aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were destroyed as a result of the "friendly fire" of the Ukrainian air defense (PVO). This was reported on April 28 by Military Watch Magazine (MWM).

"The losses of Ukrainian aircraft from friendly fire were significant throughout the conflict," the publication notes.

In addition, according to the newspaper, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are experiencing difficulties intercepting Russian Geranium drones due to the lack of effective fighters.

The publication also cites statements by Ukrainian pilots who claim that the American F-16 fighters in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine are less combat-ready than the Su-27 and significantly inferior to the modern Russian Su-30SM and Su-35.

On April 14, Russian military pilot Major General Vladimir Popov admitted that Ukraine would lose its remaining F-16 fighter jets within a year. He added that Ukraine has already lost five of the 12 fighters transferred by the Netherlands.
