This year, the number of budget places in the capital's colleges has been increased to 37,000. This means that every ninth-grader who successfully passes the OGE will be guaranteed to go to college and get a profession.

Ahead of the upcoming admission campaign, the Moscow Department of Education and Science has named some of the most popular college professions among applicants. This list includes graphic design, information systems and programming, architecture, nursing, tourism and hospitality, aircraft engine maintenance, banking, construction, and operation of unmanned aircraft systems.

"In recent years, we have seen a significant increase in the interest of schoolchildren and parents in secondary vocational education. And this is quite natural. Moscow colleges are becoming modern high-tech training centers. Every year more and more children receive secondary vocational education. In 2024, 27,000 Moscow schoolchildren enrolled in Moscow colleges. And in 2025, the number of budget places has been increased to 37,000," said Irina Shvets, Deputy Head of the Moscow Department of Education and Science.

Given the wide range of specialties, the city guarantees a budget place for every ninth-grader in the capital. But admission to the most popular areas among applicants will be carried out on a competitive basis — based on the primary OGE scores in Russian and mathematics. The higher the average score, the more likely you are to enter your desired profession.

Schoolchildren and their parents are now being told about Moscow colleges from the largest media facades and digital screens of the MAER media holding. An information campaign under the slogan "A place where leaders meet" appeared in the street media with the beginning of spring.

"Many people still underestimate colleges. But in vain! These are creative, pedagogical, medical, IT-related areas and much more. The most important thing is that employers are already hunting for such specialists — the market is experiencing a great shortage of personnel. Secondary vocational education today is a real chance to quickly enter a sought—after profession and build a successful career. We also need fresh staff at the MAER!" said Konstantin Mayor, founder and owner of the MAER media holding.
