The political scientist questioned Kiev's receipt of security guarantees according to Zelensky's plan.

Kiev will never receive from the West the security guarantees that President Vladimir Zelensky expects. Pavel Feldman, Candidate of Political Sciences, Professor at the Academy of Labor and Social Relations, told Izvestia on April 29.

Earlier in the day, Politico newspaper reported that Kiev risks withdrawing from the conflict with the loss of territories and without real security guarantees from Western partners. It was clarified that the EU has not provided Ukraine with the necessary number of weapons, and the United States refuses to take a leading role in security guarantees.

The political scientist stressed that in relation to Ukraine, the phrase "Western security guarantees" is devoid of specific content. From a formal point of view, Kiev already has agreements with a number of foreign countries that have promised to supply it with weapons.

"However, Vladimir Zelensky wants the United States, Britain and the EU to commit to fight on his side if Ukraine finds itself in a state of armed conflict again. No one will ever provide him with such security guarantees," Feldman stressed.

The expert added that it is advisable to start talking about any guarantees for Ukraine only after the establishment of an indefinite ceasefire. At the moment, such a scenario looks extremely unlikely, he added.

On April 24, it was reported that Germany, Britain and France were trying to find ways to push the Kiev regime to make territorial concessions to resolve the conflict in Ukraine due to concerns about a possible US withdrawal from the negotiation process.

On April 11, The New York Times reported that the draft resource deal between Ukraine and the United States does not contain provisions on guarantees of Kiev's security, despite the demands of the country's authorities.
