The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia will check the appeals of the management of Lenfilm Film Studio JSC regarding the company's legal and financial problems. This was announced on April 29 by the press service of the department on its website.

"Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin instructed Oleg Bobkov, acting head of the General Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city of St. Petersburg, to submit a report on the results of inspections conducted at the request of the management of Lenfilm Film Studio JSC, and to transfer the materials for study to the central office of the department," the message said.

During the meeting between Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, and representatives of the film industry, Natalia Andryushchenko, CEO of the film studio, spoke about the existence of legal and financial problems that "do not allow the full potential of the oldest Russian film studio to be realized." In addition, she stated that the rights to film masterpieces from the Lenfilm gold collection are now privately owned, although they are national property.

Based on the results of inspections, including pre-investigation ones, reports will be submitted to the central office of the Investigative Committee, and law enforcement officers will make a procedural decision.

Earlier, on March 9, the performer, the leader of the band "Hands up!" Sergey Zhukov filed a lawsuit with the court regarding a dispute over the rights to the phonograms of the band's songs. Zhukov's dispute with the first producer of "Hands up!" Andrey Malikov and the label "Jam" concerns 13 tracks. Among them are "Where are you, girls", "My baby", "Other People's lips".
