During its inspections, the Rosselkhoznadzor found remnants of medicines in dairy, meat and fish products in the Svetofor retail chain, the service told Izvestia on April 29.

In addition, in the categories of dairy, meat and fish products, the supervisory authorities found cases of falsification of goods: information about the composition on the packaging did not correspond to reality.

"For violations related to the quality and safety of food products identified in the first quarter of 2025, the Rosselkhoznadzor imposed fines in the amount of more than 13 million rubles. At the same time, subordinate laboratories continue to identify counterfeit products, which indicates the insufficient effect of current fines," they noted.

The department recalled that for violations related to food adulteration, the Code of Administrative Offenses provides for fines for legal entities in the range from 100,000 to 1 million rubles. This often turns out to be insignificant compared to the profit that violators receive from the sale of counterfeit products. In order to increase the effectiveness of measures, according to the Rosselkhoznadzor, it is necessary to introduce fines depending on the total revenue of companies.

On March 19, the Rosselkhoznadzor called Svetofor stores a platform for the sale of counterfeit goods. Currently, employees of the territorial administration continue to monitor the sale of animal products in Svetofor supermarkets. According to the agency, all unsafe products were disposed of. In addition, administrative cases were initiated and warnings were issued about the inadmissibility of violations of established norms.
