The FSB foiled an attempted UAV attack thanks to a call to the helpline

Thanks to a call to the helpline of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia, it was possible to prevent an attack using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on a fuel and energy complex facility in the Yaroslavl region. On April 29, the agency announced this in the report "On the results of the work of the FSB of Russia helpline for 2024."
During calls to this line, people sometimes provided the agency with significant information that helped prevent crimes.
"[A] criminal case has been opened under article 281 ("Sabotage") The Criminal Code of Russia on the fact of an attempted attack using an unmanned aerial vehicle on one of the facilities of the fuel and energy complex of the Yaroslavl region," the FSB website says.
In addition, after such calls, investigators opened 15 criminal cases under Article 207 ("Knowingly false reporting of an act of terrorism") of the Criminal Code of Russia against persons involved in spreading anonymous threats of a terrorist attack.
As the press service emphasizes, the FSB of Russia helpline is designed to provide information about illegal actions being prepared, committed or committed.
Earlier, on April 24, FSB officers neutralized two militants who were preparing to sabotage using drones in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The crime was planned to be committed at a petrochemical plant. At the scene, law enforcement officers seized two drones with warheads made of foreign-made explosives, a Kalashnikov assault rifle and a Makarov pistol.
