The snowfall in Perm was called the strongest in the 21st century.


Over the past day, more than 30 cm of snow fell in Perm, forecasters called the last snowfall the heaviest since the beginning of the 21st century. This was announced on April 29 at the Perm Center for Geographic Information Systems (GIS Center).
"The snowfall has become the heaviest in the regional center in the 21st century. To determine whether it is the strongest in the history of observations, an additional study of the data is required," the organization's Telegram channel clarified.
According to the GIS Center, about 88% of the monthly precipitation rate fell during the day. In some settlements of the Perm Region, the snow cover reached 37 cm.
Perm airport was closed the day before due to heavy snowfall. It was reported that visibility had significantly deteriorated due to weather conditions.
