- On April 29, the Kremlin will host the fourth evening of the "Living Echo of the Battles of the Past" series

On April 29, the State Kremlin Palace, with the support of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives, will host the fourth evening of the "Living Echo of the Battles of the Past" series dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The Cultural Charity Foundation "Artes" acted as the organizer of the Cycle.
A unique program is offered to the guests as part of the concert "I sing to you, Holy Russia". Famous Russian choirs and the best church choirs of Russia and Belarus will gather on the main stage of the country. They will perform sacred music, military and folk songs. The concert takes place during the Easter holidays and on the eve of May 9, the anniversary of our Victory.
The song "Oh, you wide Steppe" will be included in the concert program with "Farewell of the Slavs" by V. Agapkin – V. Lazarev, "Where are you now, fellow soldiers friends" by V. Solovyov-Sedoy - A. Fatyanov and "Tanks rumbled on the field" by G. Portnov – V. Suslov arranged by Yu. Poteenko – with the chorus "Hail" from the opera "Ivan Susanin" by Mikhail Glinka and "To you, the Fallen" by Rodion Shchedrin (from the cycle "Four Choirs based on poems by A. Tvardovsky).
The program will include not only famous works by outstanding Russian composers, which are performed with regular frequency, but also much less well-known chants to a wide audience, used mainly during church services. This evening, guests of the Kremlin Palace will hear "Christ is Risen" by Alexander Kastalsky (1856-1926), "The Angel is Crying" and "Rise, God" by Pavel Chesnokov (1877-1944), "Hail Mary, Virgin" and "The Virgin who Never Sleeps in Prayer" by Sergei Rachmaninov, "Easter Matins" from the repertoire of the Choir of the Don Cossacks under the direction of S. Zharov, "Easter Stichera" and "Easter Triptych" by our contemporary Anton Viskov. The All Saints Men's Choir will perform the 6th voice of "Thy Resurrection, O Christ the Savior" and "Christ is Risen" arranged by D. Tokmakov and a truly musical rarity for the Russian audience – a Serbian folk song based on the words of St. Nicholas of Serbia "Our Faith" arranged by nun Juliania (Denisova). "I Believe" by Alexander Grechaninov (1864-1956) and "Falling Asleep in the Flesh" by Boris Ledkovsky (1895-1975) will also be performed. Thus, listeners will have the opportunity not only to immerse themselves in the world of beautiful and truly inspiring music, but also to get an idea of the various ways of reading spiritual chants– both earlier and modern.
The concert will feature:
- Moscow Synodal Choir (artistic director and chief conductor – Alexey Puzakov);
- Festive Male Choir of the Moscow Danilov Monastery (artistic director and chief regent – Georgy Safonov);
- Men's Choir "Derzhava" of the Voznesenskaya Davidovaya Pustyn (regent - Ilya Melnikov);
