Latvia supplied Ukraine with 1.5 thousand combat drones


The Latvian government has sent 1.5 thousand combat drones (UAVs) to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on April 29 by the Minister of Defense of the Republic Andris Sprouds.
"Another 1.5 thousand combat drones are being sent from Latvia to Ukraine," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Spruds added that in the first half of 2025, two Latvian companies will transfer another 12,000 drones to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On April 22, it was reported that the United Kingdom had signed contracts worth $40.1 million for the supply of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to Ukraine. It was clarified that the relevant documents were signed in the framework of cooperation with New Zealand.
