In Portugal, rail transport has been restored after a large-scale power outage. This was reported by the Lusa agency on April 29.

"Train traffic <...> between Lisbon and the South Coast resumed today after it was suspended on Monday due to a power outage," the agency said.

In addition, transport links between Lisbon and settlements south of the capital on the Setubal Peninsula have also been restored.

According to the RTP Notícias TV channel, the REN electric grid operator reported that the energy situation in Portugal is "perfectly stabilized" — all substations of the national grid are running and operating normally. Despite this, the Lisbon metro remains inaccessible to passengers. At the same time, the movement of city trains has already been restored. According to the authorities, schools should resume work as usual.

A large-scale power outage in Spain and Portugal occurred on April 28. It has affected the operation of public transport, power lines and telephone communications in parts of Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon. Later, Spanish and Portuguese media reported that specialists had begun work to restore power supply.

Later, Spanish political scientist Santiago Armesilla spoke about the partial resumption of electricity supply in Spain. By that time, Madrid residents had been without electricity for more than five hours. In other regions, the duration of outages ranged from three to five hours.
