The fire in the port of Bandar Abass is under control, its elimination is expected in the near future. This was announced on April 29 by the Russian Embassy in Iran.
"The flames have been brought under control, the emergency mode has been downgraded from national to regional. We can say that the matter is coming to the finish line," the Telegram channel of the diplomatic mission says.
The staff of the Russian Embassy in Iran thanked the specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for their help, stressing that in difficult times the Russian state always supports its friends.
The diplomatic mission also expressed its condolences to the people and Government of Iran in connection with the tragedy.
A fire in Iran's Shahid Rajai seaport occurred on April 26 as a result of an explosion that damaged most buildings, as well as cars. On April 27, the Governor of Hormozgan, Mohammad Ashuri, declared three days of general mourning in connection with the tragedy. According to The New York Times, the explosion was caused by a substance used to produce rocket fuel. According to the latest data, the death toll from the explosion has increased to 70 people.
Later, after a corresponding appeal from the Iranian partners to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian side decided to send special aircraft to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.
