In Russia, 45 wildfires were extinguished in a day.

Over the past 24 hours, forest fire services have extinguished 45 wildfires on an area of 3,867 hectares throughout Russia. This was announced on April 29 by the Federal Forestry Dispatch Service and the Airborne Fire Service (FBU) "Avialesookhrana".

"Forest fires have been eliminated in Kaliningrad, Pskov, Bryansk, Vladimir, Moscow, Smolensk, Irkutsk, Tomsk, Amur regions, the republics of Buryatia, Tyva, Altai, Zabaikalsky, Krasnoyarsk Territories," the agency's website says.

It is specified that by midnight on April 29, 66 active forest fires remained on the territory of Russia, the total area of which was 407,339 hectares.

The largest number of fires was recorded in the Trans-Baikal Territory. There were 41 fires on an area of 362,859 hectares.

In total, 2,749 specialists, 447 pieces of equipment and four aircraft were involved in the emergency response.

On April 7, the Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory, Alexander Osipov, announced that a regional emergency regime had been introduced in the region in connection with forest fires. According to Osipov, almost all forest fires in the region since the beginning of the year have been caused by humans. The governor stressed that the situation remains tense and called for the protection of the region's forests.

Later, on April 27, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported that departmental IL-76 aircraft were involved in extinguishing fires in the Trans-Baikal Territory. It is specified that the aircraft performed four drains and dumped 168 thousand liters of water. The threat of fire spreading towards the settlement of Elizavetino was prevented.
