The transport police in the Krasnoyarsk Territory seized more than 100 grams of mephedrone from illicit trafficking. This was announced on Tuesday, April 29, by the police press service.

"Employees of the Law Enforcement Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at Ilanskaya station detained a 22-year-old local resident who had equipped hiding places near railway tracks. During a personal search of the detainee, the operatives seized 40 parcels," the agency said in a message on its Telegram channel.

The forensic examination concluded that the packages contained a synthetic drug. The detainee confessed that he had purchased narcotic drugs in an online store and distributed the prohibited substance in a contactless way. The total weight of the seized drug exceeded 100 grams.

Criminal cases have been initiated against the man on the grounds of attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs on a large scale (Part 3 of art.30 and Part 4 of art.228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The penalty for this charge is imprisonment for up to 20 years.

On April 15, employees of the Office of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) stopped the activities of a criminal group that was involved in organizing a supply channel for narcotic drugs in the region. The suspects were coordinated from Ukrainian territory. Currently, the FSB has detained eight defendants. It is noted that more than 23 kg of synthetic drugs were found in their homes.
