American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk believes that the biggest problem in modern China is the demographic crisis. He made a corresponding statement on April 29 on his social network X (Ex. Twitter).

"Demographic collapse is China's biggest problem in the long run. This applies to almost every country on Earth," Musk wrote.

Prior to that, the billionaire also called demographic issues an "existential problem." This was a response to a post about the continuing population decline in China.

In December 2024, the WSJ newspaper predicted a demographic crisis in China by 2035. According to experts, a similar demographic situation may soon be observed throughout China.

In July of the same year, it was reported that China's population could halve by 2100 due to the "one family, one child" policy. The Wall Street Journal newspaper, referring to the United Nations, then noted that the population of China will decrease from 1.4 billion to 639 million by 2100. According to researchers, a sharp decline in the population will begin by 2040.
