In the city of Sosnovoborsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, law enforcement officers detained a man who deceived six pensioners with the installation of plastic windows for a total amount of 195,000 rubles. This was announced on Tuesday, April 29, according to the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the agency, from August 2024 to January 2025, six criminal cases were initiated under Part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud causing significant damage to a citizen").
The police found that the 43-year-old man had already served his sentence also for fraudulent actions. After his release, he published an advertisement in one of the city's newspapers for the installation of plastic windows and balconies, where he indicated a 20% discount for pensioners.
"I collected six applications, made measurements and took an advance payment with the conclusion of the contract. He was not going to carry out installation work," follows from the publication of the department in the Telegram channel.
The attacker is currently in custody. The man does not admit his guilt. He now faces up to five years in prison.
On April 25, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Irina Volk, reported that fraudsters were detained in Novosibirsk for fraud with social benefits in 59 regions of Russia. According to her, the fraudsters provided fake birth documents to the registry office and the MFC "outside medical institutions" for the subsequent receipt of various social benefits, including maternity capital.
