For the first time, priests of the Central Military District (CVO) delivered the Holy Fire from Jerusalem to the dugout churches in the area of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced on Tuesday, April 29, by the Russian Defense Ministry.

A piece of Holy Fire was delivered by a veteran of a motorized rifle regiment. Military clergymen held a festive service in a motorized rifle unit with the participation of the command and personnel.

In the near future, the Holy Fire will be transferred to field churches in the advanced areas of the special operation, where every soldier will be able to touch the shrine, offer a prayer and become a part of the great Easter event.

According to tradition, the Holy Fire is lit in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem on the eve of Easter, after which it is delivered to different countries of the world. In Russia, the shrine is traditionally brought to Moscow, from where its particles are distributed to different regions of the country.

"We were able to communicate with our servicemen, tell them about the holiday, as Easter days are coming, share this piece of Easter joy and join in the wonderful light of Grace that descends on Holy Saturday and is carried by Orthodox Christians all over the world," said Archpriest Andrei Kanev.

On the eve of April 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that ensuring the needs of a special military operation and supporting the Russian army and navy remain a priority for Russian parliamentarians.
