Calculations of D-20 howitzers of the Airborne Troops (Airborne Forces) in the course of combat work struck a cluster of militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and destroyed a field ammunition depot. This was announced on April 29 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"Calculations of 152-millimeter D-20 howitzers of the Tula Airborne Forces of the North group of forces daily deliver precise strikes against exposed military installations, positions, armored vehicles and manpower of Ukrainian nationalists in the interests of the group of forces," the ministry said.

The targets were discovered during the exploration of the forest area in the Sumy region. According to the military, in the future, the Ukrainian army planned to equip and use this area for military operations against Russia.

"The calculation of the D-20 howitzer, having received the task of destroying the accumulation of manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the forest area, with the help of adjustments by the calculation of the UAV, struck the identified targets. By means of objective control, the defeat of the area of the deployment of the Armed Forces personnel was recorded, as well as a detonation followed by a fire at the ammunition storage site," the Defense Ministry said.

Earlier, on April 28, crews of attack aircraft on Su-25 aircraft using aviation weapons attacked the manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of responsibility of the South group of forces.
