The calculation of the 2S23 Nona-SVK self-propelled mortar of the Center group of forces hit and destroyed an International MaxxPro armored personnel carrier in the Red Army area of the special military operation (SVO) zone. This was announced on April 29 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"Having aimed the combat vehicle at the target, the servicemen fired a series of shots with 120-millimeter high-explosive fragmentation shells from a closed firing position, destroying a foreign armored enemy vehicle moving across an open area," the ministry said.

It is specified that the data on the movement of equipment was obtained using aerial reconnaissance drones. Subsequently, having successfully hit the target, the crew performed an anti-fire maneuver and changed its combat position.

"The Nona-SVK combat vehicle is capable of firing any type of mines for smoothbore and rifled mortars, including lighting, smoke and active-reactive ones. The accuracy of artillery fire is adjusted in real time, which makes it possible to destroy enemy military installations with a minimum number of shots," the Defense Ministry concluded.

These combat vehicles have proven their effectiveness during a special military operation.

On April 28, the Russian Guard destroyed an ammunition depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Chernihiv region. It is specified that the object was discovered during aerial surveillance. The warehouse was used by the militants to store ammunition. On the same day, the crew of the army aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces on a Mi-28NM helicopter attacked the temporary deployment point of the Armed Forces personnel in the area of responsibility of the South group of forces.
