- The Chinese Foreign Minister pointed to the invariability of mutual support between China and the Russian Federation.

In international relations between Russia and China, the mutual support of the two states remains unchanged. This was stated on April 28 by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Rio de Janeiro.
"There have been many new changes in the international situation recently. Change has become the norm in this era, but mutual trust and mutual support between China and Russia remain unchanged. Strategic leadership of President Xi Jinping and President [of the Russian Federation Vladimir] Putin has always been a fundamental guarantee of maintaining a high level of Sino-Russian relations," the press service of the Chinese diplomatic department quoted him as saying.
This idea is complemented by the statement that both sides should actively work "to constantly transform the important consensus reached by the two leaders into results of cooperation in various fields."
In his speech, Wang Yi also stressed the importance and strategic value of BRICS.
On the same day, during a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Lavrov said that he expected the official visit of the President of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Xi Jinping to participate in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII).
