The gunners of the Vostok group of forces destroyed a mortar and a D-30 howitzer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the South Donets direction. This was announced on Tuesday, April 29, by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"During the counter-battery struggle, the gunners destroyed a mortar crew and a D-30 howitzer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which were located in a wooded area near the Bogatyr settlement in the Yuzhnodonetsky direction," the department said.

It is specified that the enemy's positions were discovered by scouts using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), after which the coordinates were transferred to artillery calculations.

The high-explosive fragmentation shells used by the gunners during the shooting allowed them to inflict maximum damage to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Russian military also destroyed an enemy stronghold.
