More than 29.8 thousand Russians have suffered from tick bites since the beginning of the season. This was announced on Tuesday, April 29, by the press service of Rospotrebnadzor.

"Since the beginning of the season, more than 29.8 thousand citizens have applied to medical organizations in connection with tick bites," the agency told RIA Novosti.

They added that an upward trend typical of the spring epidemic period is currently being recorded.

At the same time, residents of the Sverdlovsk, Kemerovo, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Novosibirsk, Moscow and Tomsk regions most often applied to medical institutions because of the bites of bloodsuckers.

On April 25, Yulia Radchik, a pediatric allergist and immunologist at JSC "Medicine" (Academician Roitberg Clinic), told Izvestia that bruises from insect bites are especially common in children due to the characteristics of their skin and immune system. This reaction is associated with damage to small vessels or with the development of allergies.
