India will independently ensure the proper level of security after the terrorist attack without involving third countries, the country's ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar told Izvestia.

"We don't need any external country to provide us with security. We will take care of our own security. But we need the support of all against terrorism, in condemning terrorism and in putting pressure on those who support terrorism," Vinay Kumar said.

This was his response to Izvestia's question about seeking help from the SCO and Russia in particular in ensuring security after the terrorist attack.

At a meeting with Vinay Kumar on April 28, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko reiterated Russia's readiness to work with India to counter the global terrorist threat.
