An F-18 fighter jet crashed from the American aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman, and one serviceman was injured. This was announced on Monday, April 28, by the US Navy.

"The aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman lost an F-18E Super Hornet aircraft assigned to the 136th Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) and a tractor unit during aircraft carrier operations in the Red Sea. All crew members have been found, and one sailor was slightly injured," the ministry said in a statement.

They clarified that the crew lost control of the fighter when it was being towed into the hangar. After that, the plane and the tractor fell overboard of the aircraft carrier.

The ministry added that the strike group "fully retains its combat capability."
