Ukrainian actor called for beating children for using Russian language

Ukrainian actor Bogdan Benyuk called for beating children for using the Russian language. This was reported on April 28 by the Ukrainian newspaper Strana.ua", by publishing a video clip featuring the actor.

"You take a rod. And you <beat> him with a rod so that he forgets forever and ever that there is a Russian language. Fight them, fight them, hit them with a rod, hit your elders on the head with a water bottle," he said.

At the same time, the publication recalled that the Constitution of Ukraine provides for a guarantee of the free use and development of the Russian language.

On April 14, Ukrainian media reported that a woman in Zhytomyr threatened a 10-year-old girl to hand over her father to the staff of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of the military enlistment office in Ukraine) for speaking to him in Russian. It was clarified that the conflict arose in a minibus.
