Iran has proposed to the countries of the "eurotroika", which includes the United Kingdom, Germany and France, to hold a meeting on the nuclear program in Rome, on Friday, May 2. This was reported on April 28 by the Reuters news agency, citing sources.

"Iran has offered to meet with the European parties to the 2015 nuclear deal in Rome," the article says.

It is noted that the Iranian side offered the Eurotroika a meeting if negotiations with the United States on the nuclear issue resume. At the same time, there has been no reaction from European countries to the initiative yet.

According to the newspaper, a new round of US-Iranian nuclear talks is also possible on May 3 in Europe.

On April 12, the first round of negotiations between the United States and Iran on the lifting of sanctions and nuclear issues ended. The second stage took place on April 19. The Iranian delegation was led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, and Washington was represented by the President's special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.

At the same time, on April 18, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that Russia could become a mediator in negotiations between the United States and Iran. He stated that the Islamic Republic is ready to make common decisions within the framework of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
